1. Who We Are
Ridermetry is operated by Sonnet 7 Ltd, a company based in the European Union. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a transparent experience with how we handle your data.
Data Controller: Sonnet 7 Ltd
Contact: [email protected]
or [email protected]
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Precise Geolocation: GPS coordinates from your device during a recorded ride session. This data is stored on your device only by default and is used to calculate your split times and section positions on a trail.
- Postal Address: Your shipping address, collected separately during beta invitation to deliver a kit if your application is accepted.
- Identity Information: Name, email address, and phone number (optional) collected via the beta invitation form.
- Riding Data: Performance metrics derived from your device sensors (if connected) and GoPro footage, including speed, lean angle, and airtime.
3. Audio and Microphone
Ridermetry does not capture or transmit your microphone audio. If you import GoPro footage into the app, that footage contains audio recorded by your GoPro. This audio stays on your device and is stripped from exported clips by default unless you explicitly opt in to retain it on a per-clip basis.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract Performance (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing your name, email, phone, location, and postal address to evaluate your beta invitation and fulfill it.
- Legitimate Interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): Improving our products and services, and conducting analytics on anonymized riding data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the service and fulfill the legal basis for processing:
- Beta invitation and contact data: retained until the beta phase ends or 30 days after application rejection.
- Postal address: retained until your kit is shipped or application is declined.
- Riding data and geolocation: retained on your device; cloud backups are stored only if you explicitly upload them.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR and similar privacy laws, you have the following rights:
- Right of Access: You may request a copy of your personal data.
- Right of Rectification: You may correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right of Erasure: You may request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You may limit how we use your data.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a portable format.
- Right to Object: You may object to certain types of processing.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: You may file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
7. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except:
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights.
- With service providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission is 100% secure.
9. Children's Privacy
Ridermetry is intended for riders aged 14 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors under 14 without parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted information without parental consent, please contact us immediately.
